Welcome to The New American Revolution! The first American Revolution began with ideas of liberty and attempted all avenues of peaceful redress before finally igniting in violence. As we look around the various states today, we see countless citizens in disapproval of the government at all levels. Once again, it is time to intercede between an overreaching leviathan government and the oppressed citizenry.

In recognition of and in agreement with the original Founders, TNAR insists upon the inherent right of every single man, woman and child on the face of the Earth to do as he damn well pleases. The rights of man are supreme and encompass all aspects of daily life without encroaching upon the rights of others. The only agreeable limit to an individual’s liberty is that which protects the corresponding rights of another. The sole purpose of government is to protect these rights.

Join me on a discussion of why an intervention is necessary and how best to proceed in a civilized and non-violent manner. Topics include such issues as politics, economics, war, education, trade, rule of law, and every other point of contention suggested. Through the use of non-violent opposition, this blog attempts the initiation of the New American Revolution.

I am a Great American

I was recently at a social gathering where it was determined that I am a “great American.”  This was based almost entirely on the sole fact of my status as a combat veteran.  I almost countered these baseless claims on a few occasions, but it got me wondering about how to even go about doing so without completely alienating these folks.  There are certainly many individuals who would suggest that this is exactly what should occur.  However, my goal is the education of others rather than simply “putting them in their place” and, in the process, losing the ability to mold and enlighten them on the path towards liberty.

Are We Slaves?

A recent blog by Chris Sullivan has made me revisit this topic which I have discussed a number of times on the various debate forums which I frequent.  This time I felt the need to dive in a bit more in-depth in the form of this missive.

The common adage is that America is the “Land of the Free”, but is this truly the case?  In the wise words of Voltaire, “If you wish to converse with me, define your terms.”  Therefore, before we are able to answer this question we must first define the terms we are attempting to discuss.

GPS Tracking for the Masses

The amazing thing about the free market is the seemingly infinite customization.  Take for instance automobiles.  The last vehicle I purchased, I ordered directly from the factory.  I listed every single detail and option that I desired and the factory built it specifically for me.  This used to be the sort of luxury reserved only to the wealthy, but now anyone who makes the plunge for a new vehicle has that ability.

U.S. Banking Before the Civil War: Wildcat or Restricted?

In order to address the claims made by typical mainstream layman and economist alike, we must first briefly outline how the modern American monetary system came about.

Prior to the establishment of the United States, this geographic area was settled by scattered groups of primarily English and Spaniards.  As will occur in any location, the choice medium of exchange arises as a function of scarcity and demand.  For the early colonials, this ranged from beaver pelts and corn in the northern areas to fish and tobacco in the south.  As the region began to grow, gold and silver coins were imported and used frequently in the cities and for foreign trade.

RIP: Freedom of Speech

Movies used to be fun to watch because they were a break from reality.  It now seems as if some movies are turning out to be a glimpse into the future.

For those of you who have never seen it, Minority Report was a movie about the head detective for a “pre-crime” unit which averted crime before it happened.  While the movie used three seers with precognitive abilities, the United States is currently using seemingly innocuous avenues such as Facebook and Twitter.  Let’s dive in a little bit and see how freaked out we get.

Hand-Held Rockets?

I stumbled across a story this morning which made me hesitate a little while before deciding to compose a quick response.  Yesterday morning, Zack Ford, blogger at ThinkProgress.org, penned a story entitled “Scalia Suggests ‘Hand-Held Rocket Launchers’ Are Protected Under Second Amendment”.  In the story, he references an earlier morning interview on Fox News with Justice Antonin Scalia in which Scalia was asked about his views on the Second Amendment with regards to the recent shooting in Aurora, CO.  Scalia correctly alludes to the fact that the Second Amendment protects the individual right to possess and carry weapons of even military grade.

A Tragedy of Severe Implications: The Aurora Shooting

Sadly, yet another lunatic was on the rampage in Colorado this past week.  Politically, this event can be discussed in a wide variety of ways.  The mainstream news will, of course, focus on the extreme emotions felt by those immediately involved.  Many people will once again clamor for the prohibition of firearms.  Some will likely even blame the movie itself.  Regardless of where you stand it must be admitted that, tactically speaking, this was an easily preventable event.
